The website has seen another update, mainly to update the new theme which itself was redesigned.
Theme revised
The first version of the lightstream theme was designed for coherent visual aesthetics across the site, tools and logo (there were 3 designs before that were all a bit different). It has more recently been revised to help the function of the website and tools. It tried to remove plain colours like black, grey and white for natural blues and greens but there were some accessibility issues when it was applied to the site and tools. Slate and cream have been added to be less stark than black and white but easy to read. The site is also making more use of the cards to give a balance between a good looking colourful site and easy to read text. This lets the background be more vibrant than 26.08 but still readable.
Navbar redesign on desktop and tablet
The navbar has been upgraded on desktop and tablets and moved back to the top. As well as the new theme the home button is the logo which saves space and looks good. As a picture logo causes problems on phones the original navbar was just rethemed for phones.
Homepage redesign
The key pages will get further tweaks within the new theme. The homepage went first. On desktop/tablet it is now two column to be easier to read. This obviously wasn’t applied to mobile to keep the text a good enough size.
News widget redeisgn
This became a secondary card which again helps legibility.
Tools redesign
The first few tools (from anxiety) have been updated with the new theme and better explained creative commons licensing. This will keep up until they are all done.
