Today I received my first dose of the Pfizer/BioNTech COVID-19 vaccination which may open a path to more in-person services.
The Scottish Government has decided to move East Ayrshire into level 4 of their COVID-19 restrictions from Friday 20/11/20. In accordance with the new COVID policies agreed with local government this means all in-person sessions will be suspended from that date.
As COVID-19 safety guidance from local, Scottish, and UK government changes in line with events it is helpful to have a generally applicable policy to help current and prospective clients understand the scenarios when in-person sessions can or cannot occur. This policy is based on the current Scottish 5 tier system and has been devised based on advice from local government and Scottish representatives. This policy will be revised if the 5 tier system is ever altered.
Some changes to in-person and online sessions.
RFCBT will resume in-person sessions from next week (27/7/20). These will be in line with government and professional guidelines for COVID-19 safety.
On 09/07/2020 the Scottish government initiated phase 3 of its COVID-19 lockdown routemap. This allows home visits to resume as of 10/7/20. In principle, this allows RFCBT to resume face-to-face operations which can be more effective and suits some clients better. However, it is important to do this as safely as possible.
I will be getting in touch with clients and caregivers to draw up individual risk assessments and safety plans next week. These will allow resumptions of face to face sessions and restoration of suspended sessions in the near future. Exact timings will depend on individual circumstances.
